Below you will see a few pictures that some people persist in referring to as the 'first stage of spirit manifestation' but other explanations have been shown for them.

These following 2 photos were taken 6 years ago and the first one shows a 'classic' orb that we're all familiar with by now.

As you can see from the pic, it has been zoomed in on but not too much otherwise the pics would be badly pixelated. I sent the pic off to a man I know who has a huge interest in photography and also works in a lab using microscopes.

"This looks like a nice picture of a very small seed or grass pollen that has been blown in front of the lens and has been illuminated by the flash" was his verdict. Due to the fact that the camera tries hard to focus on every object put in front of it, it can make the 'halo effect' around it.

We often hear that these 'orbs' have 'energy fields' round them therefore they can't be dust or any other airborne particle etc and MUST be paranormal in some way.

This picture was taken outdoors again but notice the 'energy field' around it? That's got to mean it's paranormal then surely? Well, again, no... as the bottom (resized) picture shows. It was very frosty that night and there was frozen moisture in the air, the 'energy field' is actually the moisture reflecting by the flash and showing the spectrum colours, pretty much like a rainbow. The same effect can be achieved indoors where there is breath or condensation present.

We're also told by some people that camera manufacturers have no explanation of these 'orbs' appearing on pics but that's not true at all.

There's another little theory put about by the 'orb' enthusiasts that say there are coloured 'orbs' that must be spirit showing some sort of emotional state. So, we put this one to the test, dust doesn't come out in any colours at all, we're told. Right...we asked a guest at a recent investigation if she would throw a handful of dust into the air and I took a photo (right - bigger version of this pic can be found here or click on picture)

As you can see, it's a huge mist of dust...actually with it this small can you see a figure in there as well? It's just dust of course.

Then we waited for a few minutes for most of the dust to settle and I took another pic (left - bigger version here or click on picture) This dust must have a lot of emotions going through it as there are colours there aren't there?

Finally there's a close up view here of part of the pic on the left that shows 'energy fields' and even faces if you squint, therefore, I think, proving beyond all doubt that dust really is paranormal. First stage of spirit manifestation or people fooling themselves? I'll leave that up to you.
