If so, you may wish to become a member of the Lincoln Civic Trust. Founded in 1952 the Trust is a registered charity committed to the following aims and objectives:
(i) Preserve buildings and monuments of historic and artistic value and places of natural beauty.
(ii) Increase and develop the range of amenities for public use.
(iii) Involve the community in a broad range of cultural activities relating to architecture, music, drama and the arts to engender a sense of citizenship amongst City dwellers.
(iv) Encourage and support the work of the City’s many talented artists and craftsmen.
(v) Co-operate for these purposes with local authorities and with bodies with similar aims, both local and national.
At various locations throughout the City are to be found examples of projects that have been completed by the Lincoln Civic Trust.
WHO ARE WE?
As a voluntary organisation, we rely on our members for their practical help and enthusiasm. Members of the Trust come from a variety of backgrounds, all with valuable experience and knowledge to contribute to the Trust. We all share a common interest in preserving
WHO IS INVOLVED?
We have been able to carry out our work with the assistance of the Department of Environment and English Heritage, and with additional grants from Lincoln City Council and Lincolnshire County Council.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We need organisers, researchers, fund raisers and willing people to help carry out the work of the Trust. If you are interested and would like to become a member please fill in the application form.
